There's something wonderful about sticking one's head in a book, whether old or new, and inhaling the enticing ink and paper smell. Words, a most wonderful thing we are gifted. Everyday we use them, read them, see them. There's also something amazing about cracking open those favorite classics, or discovering new ones that you never thought you cold wrap your mind around.
Today, I want to share my top 3 current reads that I'm enjoying!

1. After Virtue: A Study in Moral Theory By Alasdair MacIntyre
After Virtue is a non-fiction read about the Emotivist culture, its history and the effects on our now-emotivist culture we live in. MacIntyre is a brilliant scholar, and I find this work--though sometimes a little difficult--extremely thought-provoking and fascinating. It might not be your cup of tea, but if you want another, intelligent outlook at our culture, read After Virtue. I'm also taking a class on this book right now, so I may be bias, but I think it is a fantastic read [almost] everyone should try. Find a copy of it here.
2. That Hideous Strength by C. S. Lewis
Also known as "A modern fairy-tale for grown-ups" (according to Lewis himself), That Hideous Strength is the final chapter in Lewis' sci-fi Ransom Trilogy (often mistaken for The Space Trilogy). This book is more than just a fairy-tale for grown-ups; rather, it is a tale of caution of attempting to use nature against what it is really made for, as well as a reminder that it is good to love the good people in your life. You can find a copy of it here.
3. Persuasion by Jane Austen
Persuasion: Anne Elliot, Captain Wentworth, drama and tea! Jane Austen is notably one of my favorite author, and Persuasion is one of my favorite novels. There's something wonderful about reading a book that is easy to read anywhere, and this is one of them. You can find amazing, hardback copies similar to the one above, here.
